WEARING nothing but ‘chicken fillets’, a g-string and a thin layer of body paint, Hayley Bateup had every right to feel naked. The champion ironwoman was centre stage at the Sanctuary Cove Art Festival launch on Friday night after being body-painted by Milana Tornatore. Bateup was painted from head to toe with a marine landscape including an under-sea theme from her chest down and a beach and sky setting from her chest up. The painting, which took three hours to complete, was a colourful start to the Sanctuary Cove Art Festival which ran all weekend showcasing more than 400 pieces of artwork. Bateup said she had expected to wear a bra and full briefs for the display. “I felt naked but I had a couple of friends there who said it looked like I had tights on,” she said. Bateup thought about turning up to her morning training session still painted, but after driving home with the artwork on her body, she opted to take a shower to avoid covering her bed in paint.
